Once PennAEPS certifies a system as an eligible alternative energy resource, the Qualified Facility will be issued a state certification number. This number will be reported to PJM GATS and the Qualified Facility.

Alternative energy facilities may begin accumulating AECs on the date that a fully completed application is submitted on PennAEPS. Applications cannot be accepted prior to the facility becoming operational or receiving permission to operate from the utility.

PennAEPS requires random inspections be performed of qualified systems to verify that the information provided to PJM GATS is accurate. For questions regarding a facility inspection, please contact PennAEPS Customer Service.
